The SMA Sunny Island X 51kW Inverter Charger integrates cleanly into diverse topologies. Use the Sunny Island X Connection Box to incorporate generators and manage AC distribution off-grid, including blackstart, diesel-off mode and generator start/stop. For larger on-grid systems, scale with the SMA Data Manager M (up to 50 devices) or run Sunny Island X as the system manager (up to 11 devices). A robust thermal design maintains nominal output even at high ambient temperatures (to 45 °C), while active cooling and protective features (short-circuit handling, residual-current monitoring) support uptime. The inverter handles unbalanced loads, supports 400 V three-phase grids (adjustable), and communicates via Modbus TCP, Speedwire and Wi-Fi for straightforward integration with PV inverters, meters and site controllers. Typical acoustic emission is 69 dB(A).
