The SolarEdge Synergy 50kW-66.6kW Three Phase Solar Inverter is designed for commercial PV installations where high power output, serviceability and installation efficiency are important. Based on SolarEdge’s Synergy Technology, the inverter uses a modular design made up of two Synergy Units and a Synergy Manager, allowing easier two-person installation compared with a single heavy inverter unit. Each Synergy Unit operates independently, helping to improve system uptime and making servicing more straightforward.

This inverter platform supports 400V three-phase grid applications, with rated AC outputs of 50kW or 66.6kW depending on commissioning and configuration. The datasheet notes that the inverter power rating is set during commissioning, helping reduce the number of part numbers required for stockholding and project planning. For the SE50K model, the rated AC active output is listed as 50,000W, with a UK note of 49,990W, while the SE66.6K model is rated at 66,600W.

The system is designed around SolarEdge’s DC-optimised architecture and includes built-in module-level monitoring via Ethernet, with optional Wi-Fi or cellular communication. Commissioning is carried out using the SolarEdge SetApp mobile application through the inverter’s built-in Wi-Fi access point, helping installers validate and configure the system on site. The pre-commissioning feature also allows automated system validation and wiring checks before grid connection, supporting faster and more controlled installation.

For safety and protection, the inverter includes SafeDC™, which is designed to reduce high DC voltage to safer levels when the grid or inverter shuts down, along with built-in arc fault protection, thermal sensors for detecting faulty wiring, reverse-polarity protection and ground-fault isolation detection. This version also includes built-in Type II DC surge protection, with field-replaceable surge protection devices. Type II RS485 surge protection is also integrated, and AC surge protection is available as an optional kit for the Synergy Manager.

On the DC side, the two-unit SE50K / SE66.6K configuration provides 8 DC inputs at inverter level, arranged as 4 MC4 pairs per Synergy Unit. SolarEdge states that the DC input is available with MC4 connection and that only MC4 connectors manufactured by Stäubli are approved for use. The inverter supports a maximum DC input voltage of 1000V and an operating voltage range of 680–1000V.

Built for indoor or outdoor commercial use, the inverter has an IP65 protection rating and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C, with user-replaceable fan cooling. The Synergy Unit weighs 32kg and the Synergy Manager weighs 18kg, with mounting brackets provided. With high efficiency, modular construction, built-in monitoring and integrated safety functions, the SolarEdge Synergy 50kW-66.6kW inverter provides a robust and scalable solution for commercial SolarEdge PV systems.
