The SolarEdge Synergy Unit with RSD is a modular building block within SolarEdge’s three-phase commercial inverter platform, designed for high-power PV systems using Synergy Technology. It forms part of inverter configurations for the SE66.6K, SE90K, SE100K and SE120K ranges, helping deliver easier handling, faster installation, and improved serviceability through a lightweight modular design. The datasheet also highlights optional rapid shutdown, built-in arc fault protection, PID mitigation, and integrated Type 2 DC surge protection.

The SolarEdge Synergy Unit with RSD is designed for use within SolarEdge’s commercial three-phase inverter with Synergy Technology architecture. Rather than using one large fixed inverter body, the system is split into multiple Synergy Units connected to a Synergy Manager, making transport, installation, and servicing more practical on larger commercial projects. According to the datasheet, each complete inverter consists of 2 or 3 Synergy Units and one Synergy Manager, with independent operation of each unit helping to improve uptime and simplify maintenance.
The datasheet also positions the range as a fast-install commercial solution, with a pre-commissioning feature that automatically validates system components and wiring during installation, before grid connection. Built-in thermal sensors help detect faulty wiring, while arc fault protection, PID mitigation, and module-level monitoring all support safer and more visible system operation. Communication options listed include 2 x RS485, Ethernet, with Wi-Fi and cellular available as optional extras. Rapid shutdown is shown as optional, activating automatically upon AC grid disconnect when fitted.
From the installation specification table, each Synergy Unit measures 558 × 328 × 273 mm and weighs 32 kg, while the Synergy Manager measures 360 × 560 × 295 mm and weighs 18 kg. The units are rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use, use fan cooling, and operate in temperatures from -40°C to +60°C. The DC input is provided via MC4 pairs or gland connection, and the datasheet specifically states that only MC4 connectors manufactured by Stäubli are approved for use.
In the wider Synergy inverter range, the platform supports high-power commercial applications across 380/400V and 480V grid versions, with maximum inverter efficiencies up to 98.3%, built-in Type II RS485 and DC surge protection, optional AC SPD, optional DC disconnect switch, and export limitation capability.
