The Tesla Backup Gateway 2 Bundle is a necessary for the powerwall installation. Sitting between the powerwall and the grid, Tesla Backup Gateway 2 Bundle detects supply loss in <50 ms, switching the premises to battery backup power.

Encased in a compact 584 × 380 × 127 mm, 11.4 kg IP55 chassis, the bundle ships pre‑wired and DIN‑rail‑ready for installation of your own breakers.​ 

For installers -

1. Scalability – one gateway synchronises up to 4 AC‑coupled Powerwall units. ​
2. Back-up - Allows battery back up power to be used in the premises
3. 3rd party PV - allows the connection of 3rd party PV inverters.
