Victron MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V
SKU: PMP482605012
The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V, Code PMP482605012 is a high-power inverter/charger for professional off-grid, backup and energy storage applications. Delivering around 6.5 kVA / 5.2 kW of continuous pure-sine output from a 48 V battery bank, it’s a strong fit for larger residential systems, small commercial sites, marine projects and specialist vehicles where robust 230 V AC is essential.
Inside, the MultiPlus-II combines a high-efficiency inverter (up to 96 % efficiency) with a 100 A adaptive battery charger and a 50 A transfer switch in one compact unit. PowerControl allows you to set a maximum grid or generator current: the charger automatically reduces its demand first, so the supply is not overloaded. PowerAssist then adds inverter power on top of the available AC input during short peaks, helping smaller supplies run heavy loads without nuisance tripping—ideal on constrained rural feeds or generator-backed sites.
The unit is fully ready for energy storage systems (ESS). It supports both DC-coupled solar (MPPT charge controllers) and AC-coupled PV inverters, so you can integrate with existing solar or design new hybrid systems. With an external AC current sensor or energy meter, the MultiPlus-II can optimise self-consumption, reduce export where required and provide seamless backup when the grid fails.
For load management, there are two AC outputs. The main output offers no-break transfer, typically under 20 ms, keeping critical loads and sensitive electronics running continuously during an outage. The second output is only energised when grid or generator power is present, so non-essential loads such as immersion heaters, HVAC or EV charging can be prioritised away from the battery bank during backup mode.
The MultiPlus-II 6k5 is also highly scalable. Multiple units can be paralleled for higher power, and up to three devices can be configured for three-phase systems. That gives installers a clear path from a single-unit installation to a multi-unit system as site demand grows, without changing platform or software.
Configuration and support are streamlined via VEConfigure, VictronConnect, and GX devices such as Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, with full remote monitoring and control through the VRM portal. A rugged steel IP21 enclosure, wide operating temperature range and Victron’s proven reliability mean the Victron MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V gives you a dependable, installer-friendly building block for demanding off-grid, backup and ESS projects.
