The Victron MultiPlus-II 48V/6500VA/100A-50/230V GX Inverter Charger is a high-power all-in-one unit designed for professional off-grid, backup and energy-storage systems. Delivering up to 6.5 kVA / 5.2 kW of pure-sine AC output from a 48 V battery bank, it’s ideal for larger residential systems, small commercial sites, marine applications and specialist vehicles that demand robust 230 V power and fast, efficient charging.

This GX model integrates a MultiPlus-II inverter/charger with a built-in GX device and LCD display, so you get system control and monitoring in the same enclosure. The onboard GX hardware provides BMS-Can, VE.Can, USB, Ethernet and VE.Direct connectivity, plus WiFi support via optional accessories. That means direct communication with batteries, solar chargers, meters and other Victron devices, and seamless access to the VRM portal and Victron apps for remote configuration, data logging and diagnostics.

On the AC side, the unit combines a high-efficiency inverter (up to 96 % efficiency) with a 100 A adaptive charger and a 50 A transfer switch. PowerControl lets you cap the grid or generator input current so the charger automatically backs off before overloading the supply. PowerAssist then tops up short-term peaks from the battery, helping smaller or constrained supplies run heavy loads without nuisance tripping – a real benefit on rural connections, generators and temporary power.

Two AC outputs simplify load segregation. The main output provides no-break transfer (typically under 20 ms), keeping critical loads and sensitive electronics running smoothly during grid outages. A second output is only live when an AC input is present, so non-essential circuits such as immersion heaters or other discretionary loads can be prevented from draining the battery bank in backup mode.
