New from Victron Energy, the SolarSense 750
A fully wireless, self-powered PV installation monitor designed to help improve system performance and reduce wasted solar energy in both off-grid and grid-connected setups. It provides real-time information on available solar power, helping users monitor output, optimise panel layout, identify surplus energy for diversion to other loads and get more value from installed PV systems. Available to order at CCL.

New from Victron Energy, the SolarSense 750 is a standalone PV installation monitor designed to help users improve solar performance and make better use of available energy. Fully wireless and self-powered, it is a straightforward tool for understanding what a PV system is producing and where excess solar energy may be available.
In off-grid or grid-limited systems, excess PV energy can often be wasted once batteries are fully charged. Rather than allowing that energy to go unused, the SolarSense 750 provides real-time information on available solar power so surplus generation can be identified and used more effectively. This can help users decide when to run additional loads, such as water heaters or household appliances, reducing the need to draw from batteries later.
The SolarSense 750 helps users monitor available solar output, optimise panel layout and system design, identify surplus energy for diversion to other loads, and improve overall system efficiency. It can also be used as a pilot device to compare solar yield in different locations, panel orientations and seasonal conditions, making it useful when planning new PV installations or improving existing ones.
No wiring is required. The unit is powered by its own built-in solar cell and includes a rechargeable internal battery. It communicates using Bluetooth Low Energy via Victron’s Instant Readout, with monitoring available through VictronConnect or compatible GX devices. Once configured, users can view expected solar output, current solar irradiation, today’s solar yield and sensor cell temperature, with additional history and trend data available for longer-term performance tracking.
The compact SolarSense 750 is designed for outdoor PV environments, with an IP65 protection rating, an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a simple panel-frame mounting arrangement using the supplied bracket, locking screw and self-drilling screws. It stores 31 days of trend data and 730 days of historical data, giving users a practical view of both current and past PV performance.
